The primary Brushfactory logo and wordmark lockup displayed in its light mode variant.

Brushfactory converts brush files between drawing apps, which makes it a technical tool for a creative audience. Before its public launch it needed an identity that felt approachable to artists while still reading as dependable software, and that could work outside the app on marketing pages and signups.

The mark had to say “digital art tool” without falling back on a literal paintbrush. It needed to stay legible at favicon size and work on both the dark app interface and the light marketing pages. I kept it to solid colors, with no gradients, so it would hold up at every size.

The geometric pen nib mark shown at varying scales.

I designed a geometric fountain pen nib as the icon, with a vivid orange ink stroke running from its tip to ground the mark and give it movement. I paired it with a heavy, rounded serif wordmark and softened the nib’s corners to match the type. The wordmark switches between deep charcoal and white depending on the background, while the orange stays constant.

The core solid color palette adapting to light and dark themes.

The identity launched with Brushfactory in August 2026. It appears in the app, on the marketing pages, in browser tabs and on social preview cards.
