Shorewood Internship

Background
The City of Shorewood, Minnesota, manages a wide variety of administrative processes that require documentation, from permits to internal HR forms. I joined the team as a Graphic Design Intern to assist in modernizing their communication materials.
The Challenge
Many of the city's existing documents were outdated, visually inconsistent, and difficult to use. The challenge was to audit these legacy documents and transform them into a cohesive system that aligned with the Shorewood Branding Kit while drastically improving usability.
The Solution
I utilized Adobe Acrobat and InDesign to redesign and engineer a suite of fillable PDFs. I strictly applied the Shorewood Branding Kit and focused on user experience by adding interactive form fields, dropdown menus, and clear instructional hierarchy.
The Result
The project resulted in a library of modernized, user-friendly documents that streamlined administrative workflows. The shift to fillable PDFs reduced paper waste and data entry errors.
